John William Kingman (1821-1903) graduated from Harvard University in 1843 and began practicing law in New Hampshire in 1847. In 1862 he was commissioned as a colonel in the 15th Regiment of New Hampshire Volunteers during the Civil War and was mustered out in late 1863. He was appointed associate justice of the Supreme Court of Wyoming Territory in 1869 and served until 1873. Kingman practiced law in Laramie and Cheyenne, Wyoming, and operated a sheep ranch outside of Laramie until around 1883 ...
